The Early Years

Nina’s enthusiasm and interest in design and interiors was developed when, at the age of nineteen, she went to work for John Fowler at the prestigious Sybil Colefax & John Fowler.

Shortly afterwards she set up her own decorating business, where one of her first commissions was to design a castle in Scotland.

With her unmistakably rich and elegant colour palette, Nina’s work caught the eye of club owner Mark Birley, who asked her to redecorate the famous Annabel’s private members’ club. This relationship was so successful that they combined forces once again in 1970 when they opened Campbell & Birley, a shop in London specialising in ‘unashamed luxury’. It was here that Nina launched her signature ‘hearts’ design and this timeless motif is still available on a range of fine bone china.

Interior Design

The interior design side of the business continues to flourish with notable projects, both commercial and residential, throughout the world. In most cases her clients are very private individuals who require a high level of confidentiality and privacy. Nina Campbell feels very strongly that a house should be personally tailored to each client and should reflect their own particular needs and lifestyle. This is confirmed by her many returning clients, throughout the generations and for houses all over the world.

Nina Campbell works with a large and trusted team of craftsmen in all the decorative fields. She is equally happy working with clients existing furniture and art or acquiring antiques and bespoke pieces to create a house ready to be lived in.

We continue to grow and develop the furniture collection, which we are delighted is now available to customise via our website.
